SHONA DRIVE

With 2020 being a tough year for all, the Shona Drive campaign managed to donate a total of 18 sewing machines to institutions that worked with victims of abuse, HIV, human trafficking, violence, and discrimination. These institutions sought to help the victims rebuild their lives, boost their self-esteem and make them economically self-reliant by giving them education and skill development training. Charities that benefited from this campaign included Euphrasia Women's Centre, Talia Agler Girls Shelter, Earth Angels, Magoso School, and Daughters of Kenya.

13th June 2021 marked World Sewing Machine day. @sukumatwende Welfare Pillar donated two Industrial Sewing Machines to Children’s Garden Home & School based in Kawangware. The school takes young children who have been abandoned by their families and are given education and taught life skills and then again reinstated in the society

SAND DAM

Through funds raised during the Karura Moonwalk 2019 event, the construction of a Sand dam was completed in Makueni County of Machakos district. This was in partnership with APA Apollo Foundation, and we are happy to report that the dam is now filled with water after the rains. This will greatly assist the local community in this semi-arid region, where water is a precious commodity.
